What is Request Room?
Request Room is a two-way matching feature on RoomRentKTM. Instead of spending hours browsing listings that may not fit, tenants fill out a simple form describing their ideal rental. Property owners then browse a live feed of these requests and contact the ones that match their vacancies.
A reverse-matching approach
Think of it as a direct want-ad for rentals in Kathmandu. Instead of endlessly searching, you post your specific requirements and verified property owners reach out to you.
Why we built it
Kathmandu's rental market has a problem. Tenants hunt for rooms across dozens of Facebook groups and broker networks. Owners sit on vacant properties hoping the right tenant appears. The Request Room feature bridges this gap.

How it works for tenants
Submitting a room request takes under two minutes. Here is the exact process:
- Choose your property type — Single Room, Flat, Shared Room, or Hostel.
- Pick your preferred location on the map and set your monthly budget.
- Select how urgently you need to move in — Immediately, Within 1 Week, or Within 1 Month.
- Add your name, phone number, and an optional message with extra requirements.
- Submit your request. It goes live instantly and owners can contact you directly.
Your request appears in your dashboard where you can edit or close it anytime. If you start filling the form as a guest, your data is saved and you will be prompted to sign in before submitting.
How it works for owners
If you are a property owner, the Request Room feed is a direct pipeline to qualified tenants. Here is how to use it:
- Visit the Room Request Feed to see what renters are looking for right now.
- Filter by property type, area, budget, and move-in urgency.
- Find a request that matches your vacant property.
- Call the tenant directly using the phone number shown on the request card.
- Negotiate directly and close the deal without any broker commission.
